Personal Thoughts

It wasn’t until the fourth grade that I picked up a bat and glove for the first time. From that point on, my life was softball day in and day out. I took to the game quickly, spending my summers traveling with all-star and other competitive teams. Through these experiences, I learned that it takes a lot of perseverance and determination to remain competitive. On the longest, most tiring days, I always recalled my parents’ simple words of advice, “can’t never could,” and those words have stuck with me my entire life. Unfortunately, during my junior year of high school, I suffered a softball career-ending injury and took up golf, an activity I still love today. I like to think I made lemonade out of lemons!

I’ve learned that even the “best” plans do not always turn out as we think they will. I’ve also learned that perseverance and determination are keys to finding your way. After graduating from college, I realized that pursuing a career in science and medicine was not my passion. In early 2002, I sent my resume to a temp agency looking for a job, any job. They placed me as a temporary receptionist at RCG. Working at RCG fully introduced me to the financial services industry and the stock market. Over the next two years, my perseverance and determination led me back to school where I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation… helping me make lemonade out of lemons once again!

I fell in love with the service RCG provides our clients. As a wealth advisor, I offer reassurance and confidence to our clients when they are making big financial decisions and planning their future goals. Creating a financial plan is like putting together a puzzle: lots of different pieces just needing to be arranged the right way to create their beautiful picture. No two puzzles are the same, making each day a new challenge. I face that challenge with determination as I strive to help others achieve their financial goals.

I am grateful to my parents for instilling in me the importance of a strong work ethic and the perseverance to find my way no matter what life throws at me. It is because of those values that I am where I am today. While golf and financial planning weren’t part of my original life plans, they’ve been the best plan yet!
