Resource Consulting Group Welcomes New President, Johnnie James
James joins the financial planning and investment advisory firm in providing clients
with objective guidance and clarity in a constantly-changing world
ORLANDO, Fla. – Oct. 19, 2016 – Resource Consulting Group, an independent, fee-only financial planning and investment advisory firm, today announces the appointment of its new president, Johnnie James. Managing $1.4B in assets, Resource Consulting Group (RCG) provides fully integrated wealth management by fusing the key disciplines of investment, estate, tax, retirement, risk management and philanthropic planning. With over 35 years of experience in the public and private industries, James works closely with RCG’s management team to provide a long-term strategic vision for the firm.
Founded in 1988 by CEO Mike Davis, Resource Consulting Group established a name for itself as a team of professionals with broad credentials and experience who believe in a long-term, disciplined strategy. With longstanding clients in the top one percent of Americans in terms of assets and income, Davis and his team strive to provide objective, unbiased advice that leads to financial peace of mind. As RCG’s new president, James bolsters this mission, working closely with Davis to oversee the day-to-day processes and systems that support the firm’s operations.
“Throughout my career I have sought to add value, build trust and secure the future for my clients, which aligns perfectly with the philosophies of RCG,” said Johnnie. “I’m looking forward to continuing this meaningful work by assisting the firm’s wealth advisors in serving our diverse clients and families, helping them achieve their unique financial goals.”
Previously, James spent 30 years offering tax, business and succession planning advice to privately held businesses and high net worth families with Arthur Andersen, KPMG, McGladrey (RSM), as well as Tedder, James, Worden & Associates. During the last five years, James provided hands-on leadership to a privately-owned Florida trucking company and developed his family-owned berry farm in North Carolina. As a fifth generation Floridian, James has taken on leadership roles with numerous local non-profit organizations, for which he was awarded Orlando Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Award and the McGladrey Partner Achievement Award.
“We are extremely energized with the hiring of Johnnie as our new president,” said Mike Davis, founder and CEO of Resource Consulting Group. “He is a well-respected industry leader, and he comes to Resource Consulting Group with extensive experience serving the Florida business and charitable communities. I look forward to working with Johnnie for many years to come to enhance the services our clients know and trust.”
