Danielle McFarland
Client Service Specialist
Danielle graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in business with a focus in financial services. Before joining RCG, she worked at Pershing Advisor Solutions, a Bank of New York Mellon company, and Charles Schwab, totaling a little over seven years in the financial services industry.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Danielle moved to Florida after graduating college. She had never been to Florida before moving but didn’t want to deal with the snow anymore. 13 years later, she’s still here. In her spare time, she enjoys working out and being active, soaking up the sunshine at the beach, and traveling to new places.
I didn’t come from a wealthy family, but I did come from a family that values hard work. I remember my mom working late some nights. She was a waitress and would come home exhausted from being on her feet all day. I think she worked harder and longer days to get my sister and me all the things we wanted — within reason — especially the latest and greatest basketball sneakers for upcoming seasons and to put me in basketball camps. My dad was a mover. He was always very meticulous about the work he did. I remember overhearing him talk on the phone to customers. I could tell he took pride in the work he did.
I wasn’t initially sure what path I would follow when it came time to think about college, but I knew I wanted to be the first person in my family to graduate. I wanted to get a degree to better my chances of a career path to help my family financially. I became intrigued with financial services. I thought it would be rewarding to help people build their financial futures so that they wouldn’t have to struggle and stress.
A former manager used to always say to me, “you can’t teach the work ethic that you have; you just can’t teach people to care about the work they do the way you do.” I do what I do because of the work ethic my parents instilled in me, the discipline basketball taught me, and the desire to treat people how I want to be treated.
Although I never did pursue any education past my financial services degree, working at RCG allows me to work with people who genuinely care about helping people with their financial futures.
